What's the buzz? Bee T-shirts! Only available here! Created by Layne's students to raise money for the Sacred Path of the Bee project!

The Bee Tee comes in long or short sleeves, women's fitted or conventional straight design. (Men are happily fitting into the Short Sleeve Straight Sizes!!!) The front design was created from an ancient Minoan necklace representing two bees from Crete by artist Jane Snyder. The back is an original design based on Layne's work and brought into being by Jane. The word in the blue triangle is "rebirth," while the words around the hexagon that connects the bees are "rejoice," reveal," "remember," "restore," "reclaim," and revere."

The T-shirts come in either short sleeve or long sleeve; fitted or straight.

The Lotus Tambourine is a cross between Middle Eastern and Western orchestral tambourines and features an internal hand grip and five sets of German silver jingles. A combination of the traditional North African tar and the tambourine, the Tar-Rine, designed by Layne Redmond, lends itself to many drum techniques from around the world. This frame drum can be held like a Tar or Riq, or played on the knee in sitting position. Features five sets of very light German silver jingles. It is larger in diameter than the Lotus or Riq. The Tar-Rine offers nearly unlimited rhythmic possibilities and a uniquely expressive, musical tone. Remo signature artist Layne Redmond designed this tambourine, based on traditional instruments but with Remo's modern touches including Acousticon synthetic shells and the Fiberskyn® 3 pre-tuned drumheads that are unaffected by weather. Pretuned to a very high pitch, with 5 double rows of heavy brass jingles for a lively and vibrant sound. Ideal for Middle Eastern music. This is the heaviest of the three tambourines that Layne designed for Remo. It also has the highest pitched and tightest head make it a more challenging drum to play. Recommended for professional or experienced players. Not recommended for beginners.

CD #1 opens with a brief description and sound of the basic strokes and the relation to the elements, earth, water, fire and air. Next are jingle exercises, followed by exercises combining the strokes. Four basic rhythms for the Rattlesnake piece are given. Following are 15 more rhythms that gradually increase in complexity. This beginning CD is geared for people who understand how to hold the instrument correctly. It comes with two sheets of printed notes and rhythms.

Duet For Two Middle Eastern Style Tambourine -- Intermediate – Advanced Level. Rattlesnake is a composition for tambourines first created by Layne Redmond in the early 1990s for her group the Mob of Angels. It has many different versions and can be played as a duo or as an ensemble composition. This version of Rattlesnake is a composition for two Middle Eastern style tambourines, and includes rhythms in eight, three, five, seven, and ten, played over four beats.
